What??? A blog post on a Wednesday...I know I can hardly believe it myself!! I was sitting here loading some photos that I had recently taking of my son onto my computer and I thought to myself how it's been so long since I've posted some of my own photos. I absolutely LOVE designing...but somehow my blog has turned into me just making my weekly "New Products" post. So with that said...I'm going to make a point to make more random blog posts...I want to get back to sharing some of my photos with you, posting my own layouts, sharing hybrid projects that I've created...and some tips and tricks that I've learned along the way...in addition to what new products that I have hitting my store.

So today I wanna share with you some photos that I took of my son the other day while he was riding his 4-wheeler in the backyard...

This is one of his favorite things to do when he gets home from school! We have such a huge backyard...so it actually works out really well for him...he rides for a bit...stops...then goes and explores the dirt and bugs...then hops right back on and drives to another destination in our backyard. Ahhhh....to be a kid again!

Chugga Chugga Choo Choo!!! Hello there!! And welcome to your next stop on the ScrapMatters [inter]National Scrapbooking Day blog train. You have probably just come from Kim's Blog. That's the stop before this one. And now you've arrived in the Midwest at Designs by Tater...I'm Tater!!!

Our NSD mega-collab at SM this weekend is called "Moments that Matter" and the whole theme of our celebration is all about those moments in our lives that really matter. At each stop you'll find a story about a Moment that Matters along with a freebie!! There are TONS of stops on this blog train, so you can pick up a LOT of goodies!!

Ok...so you wanna hear my "Moment that Matters"?....Well here we go...it's kinda personal...but still a moment that I would love to share with you...

My Moment that Matters is the day that I found out about my adoption story...yes...that's right I'm adopted!!! At the age of 4 weeks I was adopted by a wonderful family who LOVED children. They loved children SOOOO much that they adopted a total of six and then had one of their own.

I grew up knowing that I was adopted but that was all that I knew. It wasn't until I had a child of my own that I started wondering more and more about my story. I couldn't help wanting to know what my birth parents looked like....if I had any other siblings....medical history...etc. All of a sudden I found myself wanting to know it all!!!

After a little research I located the agency that handled my adoption and then set up an appointment to meet with a caseworker to discuss it. The morning of the appointment...I was so excited!!! My husband drove me to the agency and when we arrived I was greeted by a very friendly lady...my caseworker. We went to her office and sat down...and she handed me a document that was several pages long! It was titled ....My Adoption Story!!!

I couldn't believe that I was about to read everything that I wanted to know...well mostly everything!!! I sat there for a minute taking a deep breath...thinking to myself...am I ready for this? After answering myself....I started reading. My husband and my caseworker sat there while I read. When it came to the part that described my birth mother...tears started running down my cheeks. The words that were used to describe her...are the SAME words that people have used to describe me!!! I couldn't beleive it...she was just like me!!

This moment mattered so much to me because now all of a sudden I feel as though my birth parents are actually real people now...and even though I may never get the chance to meet them...I feel so much better knowing what they were like and the circumstances behind my adoption.

Thursday Sneak Peek

Hi there everyone!!! It's Thursday and my the first day of our Spring Break...yippie!! Which means everyone is home. It's sucha a BEAUTIFUL day outside so we plan on just hanging around outside for a bit so we can enjoy this SUNNY weather. March Blog Challenge!

Hey there everyone! It's one of Tater's tater tots, Melanie [better known as scrappymelly]. Tater and I got together and decided I would take over the blog for a fun monthly challenge where you could win a gift certificate to Tater's store!

So what do you have to do? Well, it's really quite simple. I've got a template for you that you need to download. Then you have to create a layout using that template. Now the catch is, that layout has to be at least 85% done with Tater's products.

Once you've finished your layout, head over to ScrapMatters and upload your layout in Tater's Gallery and make sure you link back your layout to THIS thread. It will be in that thread that I can keep track of who is playing along.

You have until midnight pst on the 25th of this month to get your layout in the gallery and linked back to the forum. At that point the Tater Tots are going to vote and pick one winner to recieve a $4.00 gift certificate to Tater's store. Sounds simple enough right?

So here's the template you're going to be using this month!

I would love to see a ballet kit, complete with tuts, slippers, flowers, and ribbons. Some shimmery/glittery elements would be great, and I'd love to see some BLACK as well as more girly colors. All of the dance kits I see are very pastel, and so many of my dance photos just seem really dark for those kits. Plus most of the girls wear black leotards and shoes...so I'd love to see a dance kit that was more than just pink.

Since today is the last day we can play before Tater gets back, I thought it would be fun to come up with some ideas for new kits that we all would like Tater to design for us. Don't you think it's time she got back to work? Me too! If we can't play anymore neither can she, and she's going to need something to work on. ;)

That brings me to today's challenge. Your challenge today is to post ideas for a kit or kits that you would like Tater to design. Chances are you have some photos in your stash that you haven't found the perfect kit for yet. Here's your chance to let the designer know exactly what you want in a kit, so you can get those photos scrapped.

Just post a comment on this blog by Midnight MST tonight telling Tater what you would like to see in your kit. If you have ideas for more than one kit, post them in separate comments to get more entries into the contest. Please make sure your comments are fairly specific so Tater has something to work with. DON'T just post that you want more boy kits. Tell her what you would like to see in a kit... Things like a what colors, elements, papers, alphas or anything else you would like to see in your dream kit. You can post links to photos, whatever would inspire your new kit. Now, don't worry. You don't have to post a huge list, but do put some thought into what you would like to see.

Hi everyone, Janine here with day two of fun! Let the Fun Begin! December 2009 Tater Tot Challenges & Freebies - Day One

Kayla here... Tater's gone off playing, so some of us Tater Tots (CT members) have decided to hijack her blog and have some fun too. We can't let Tater have all the fun now can we? And the best part about the boss being gone is that YOU will be able to play along with us too. We have some GCs to Tater's store at Scrap Matters that we will be giving away, so come back each day from Dec 28th - Dec 30th to find out how you can enter for a chance to win.

Well, let's get this party started! Today we are going to give you a couple of ways to play along to win one of the two gift certificates that are up for grabs.

First up, is an easy way to enter. We want you to be able to stay informed about all the happenings at Designs by Tater, so you need to signup for the blog newsletter. Just enter your email address in the subscribe to my blog area on the right side of this screen. Follow the instructions to sign up and then come back and leave a comment saying that you signed up for the newsletter. Signup for the newsletter and come back with your comment BEFORE 1:00 am MST on Dec 29th, and you will be entered to win a GC for one product of your choice in the Designs by Tater store at Scrap Matters. The winner will be chosen by random generator and announced on this blog.

Next up, is a template challenge. It's a little more involved, but still a win win for everyone because we're giving you a template set, and an incentive to get some scrappin done, plus a chance to win a GC for one product of your choice in the Designs by Tater store at Scrap Matters. Wow that was a mouthful!

Anyway, here's how the template challenge will work. Download the templates and use one to make a layout. Post it in any online gallery of your choice and come back here and post a link to your layout in the comments. You have until Midnight MST on Wednesday, December 30th to post the link to your layout to be entered to win the GC.

It's Friday! New Release!

Hi there! Yippie it's Friday!! It's been somewhat of a rough week for us...we had to take my son to the ER on Sunday because he was running a 103 temperature!! Thank goodness he didn't have the flu but he had some other type of viral infection...that apparently just had to work it's course. I kept him home from school for 3 days and yesterday was his first day back...and let me tell you...he was so excited to go!! But now I think I've got whatever he had!! I tell you...I don't get it...I am so OCD when it comes to hand-washing...so I've been washing my hand's like a crazy lady, spraying Lysol, changing sheets and pillowcase everyday!!! Uggh!! Oh well...today it doesn't seem as bad but I'm definitely not myself!!

Today my son is off school because of parent/teacher conferences. I'm so excited...it will be our very first and I am hoping that I hear nothing but good things from his teacher. We will see.

Ok so lets get to it...I do have a new product hitting the ScrapMatters Store today. It was an old Speed Scrap Participation Prize. Take a look...

As most of you know...I love to make alphas...and I really love basic alphas that you can use for just about any layout! Also with Halloween coming up this alpha would be perfect for those LO's too! I'm not one for all of the scary Halloween stuff...so when I decided that I was gonna make a Halloween themed kit I knew I wanted to do something that was cute and kid friendly! I jam packed it with lots of colorful patterned papers and 5 solid papers (not shown in preview) so you have variety to choose from. Also for this weekend only Boogity Boo is 20% off!! Well it's been raining here the last couple of days. I don't think I'll be going to the football game tonight in all this rain. Last weekend we took some friends of ours to our favorite apple orchard that I've been going to since I was a kid...and we picked a ton of apples. I think tonight we are just going to hang out and make some caramel apples....yummy! Oh yeah, and I also need to talk to my ds to find out what he wants to be for Halloween! Earlier he mentioned he wanted to be a nascar racer...hmmmm...haven't seen any costumes like that...so if you do please let me know.

Hi there...yes I've been a bad blogger the past couple of weeks. Life around our house has been really busy lately.

I wanted to pop in real quick though and show you something. My son turned 6 this month and this past Saturday was his Birthday Party. He was wanting a Tranformer themed party so I made him dress up in his Bumblebee costme that he had from Halloween last year and I took some action shots of him so I could put his picture on the invitation. Then I decided to go ahead and make some matching treat toppers to go on his goodie bags...take a look...

I think they both turned out pretty well...and he was really excited about them. I used a kit called Incredi-boy by Britt-ish Designs and GG Digital Designs. You can find the kit here at ScrapMatters!!

Hi there just popping in to let you know about the ScrapMatters CT cal!!! That's you heard me ScrapMatters is having a CT call so you need to go apply right not. Before I started designing for ScrapMatters I started out as a CT member...and I LOVED IT....I'm sure you will to...here's more info...

I also managed to find some time to scrap a few LO's. Take a look...

For this LO I used a super cool kit called Thoroughly Amused by Haynay Designs and Plum Dumpling Designs. The template is Strips and Pieces by Sahlin Studio. You can find both of these items at ScrapMatters.

And for this one I used All American Superhero and Super Villains by Plum Dumpling Designs and a template called Circles of Love by Denise Beatty Originals.

Ok...so let's get this ScrapMatters Birthday Blog Train started...as I said eariler...My name is Tater...and I'm stop number #19!! You should have arrived here from stop #18 Shalin Studio Blog. As some of you may know I am the youngest of seven children and one of my most favorite memories from when I was a child was our family picnics in the park!!! My parents were big on taking us to the park. It seemed like every weekend we would pack up our picnic basket and head to one of our neighborhood parks and play for hours!!! We did this for as long as I can remember. Now that I have a family of my own...we do spend a lot of time at the park...but for some reason I have yet to pack a picnic basket and head to the park. Sometimes we may grab some McDonalds and eat it in the park...but it just doesn't seem the same. I am however going to make a effort real soon here to plan a little picnic (with homemade sandwiches and all). That way my son will be able to experience a real picnic!

New Release and It's a Party!!!

Ok Friday is finally here...which means it's time to release my BRAND NEW kit that I've been dying to show you and if you read all of the way through to the end of this post you'll find a little coordinating freebie....are you ready....wait for it.....wait for it....BAM...here it is...It's called "Lil' Mr. Fix-it"...

This kit is totally inspired by my 5 year old son....who is my very own little Mr. Fix-it. He discovered his daddy's tools at the age of 3 and I remember one time we had remodeled our bathroom and all my husband had left to do was to put the flush handle back on the toilet. Well days went by and it still wasn't done. My son went in my bathroom and decided that he was gonna take it upon himself to put it back on. I just thought to myself how cute but really didn't think that he would actually be able to put it on there all by himself. I left him there...and then came back a few minutes later and he was still working on it. I thought...well at least this will keep him busy for a few minutes. He seemed determined. I left him alone for a few more minutes and then he came into the kitchen where I was at and said, "I fixed it!" I looked at him and said, "you did??? Good for you!!!" But I really didn't think he actually was able to put the handle back on the toilet...I was just playing along. He insisted that I go take a look...so I did....and to my SURPRISE I looked at the toilet and the handle was on there!!! It was on there backwards....but it was on there nice and tight!! I couldn't believe it!! And now it's almost three years later and it's still on there backwards...we never fixed it. LOL! So now instead of pushing down to flush we push it up to flush. LOL!!! But ever since then he's had a knack for fixing things around the house. So he is my "lil Mr. Fix-it and was the inspiration behind my new kit! I'm sure there are lots of you out there too that have your very own little Mr. or Miss Fix-it...if so this kit is for you!!! I hope you enjoy it!!!

Serious Withdrawls

Ok...So on Saturday my house was completely empty... hubby and ds were both gone. I sit down with just me and my lappy (laptop) and I'm so excited because I had planned to do some design work all day. I was feeling very inspired....just when I was finishing up one product and getting ready to create another one...well my a/c power cord to my lappy started shooting off sparks!!! I quickly unplug it from my laptop and then hurry up and unplug it from the outlet. At this point I'm thinking, "What the heck!!" (I had a similar situation with my iron awhile back which ended up with my ironing board catching on fire. What is up with me and these electrical cords?) So anyway, once I got everything unplugged I took a look at my a/c power cord and sure enough it was split! I kept on thinking, "What am I gonna do?" I did not have a spare and my battery was not gonna last me very long...I hurried up and looked online to find a new one and just when I had found one...well...she died on me!! Uggh! So at this point I'm stuck without Internet access!! Double Uggh!! Well I quickly got out the phone book to call around to see if I could find a place locally that carried an a/c adapter for my lappy. This happened on Saturday...and on Wednesday after suffering from serious Internet withdrawls I was in Walmart doing some grocery shopping and I just thought well let me look to see if they would have one. ( I must say I wasn't very hopeful because every place that I checked here locally did not have a compatible one for my lappy.) I arrive at the computer section...I'm looking....searching...still searching...and then the "Hallelujah" music starts going off in my head!!! I FOUND IT!! Right here in Wally World of all places!! Now why didn't I think to come here first!!

So now I'm back and amongst the Internet world...and couldn't be more excited! I'm sitting here right now outside on my back patio soaking up the sun on this beautiful day and enjoying my family and of course the INTERNET!!! I haven't yet finished all of the products that I had planned to release tomorrow but I do have 1 new product coming out tomorrow at ScrapMatters. So be sure to stop by my blog tomorrow so you can see what it is!!

Ok so real quick...my thoughts about American Idol...cause you know how much I love this show!! Well my hubby and I had I be going on as far as who would win. I picked Adam and he had picked Kris!! Well as you can see I lost!!! Although I have to admit I was kinda shocked that Adam didn't win it...but I was incredibly proud of Kris...cause towards the end of the show he was definitely stepping up his game!! So congrats to Kris!! I look forward to hearing both of their albums!!

Ok so a very busy weekend for us...my husband is in a wedding so tonight we have a rehearsal dinner to go to and then tomorrow there's the wedding and the reception. It's an adult's only reception...so that should be fun!!! Then on Sunday we have Graduation and a ton of graduation parties to go too. Whoo...busy...busy...busy!! Should be fun though!! Just popping in today to post a few LO's that I've done recently. It had been awhile since I've scrapped a LO and I really missed it...so it felt really good to get some done!!

Here's one using "Backyard Buddies" by Erica Zane...

And here is a LO of my ds and a friend of the family during Easter. They were so excited to be coloring eggs. The smile on their faces crack me up!! I used the kit called "Bunny Foo Foo" by Britt-ish Designs.

This next LO I did for the "Everyday Magic" challenge at ScrapMatters hosted by Brittney of Britt-ish Designs! For this challenge we are scrapping a "Top Ten List." It can be any type of Top Ten List that you want. For this LO I used "Wild Child" by Megan Turnidge.

So...last night I watched American Idol...I must say I've been a fan of Adam's ever since the beginning and I still am!! He never dissapoints...although I'm not sure what was up with the last song that Kara co-wrote for them to sing. I mean the lyrics of the song were good and all I just thought that it was totally the wrong song for both Adam and Kris. It didn't fit their voices at all!! Oh well, I look forward to watching the fianle tonight. My vote is of course for Adam...but I thought that Kris did an excellent job in the competition especially towards the end!! So I'm really proud of him too!! Can't wait to see who's gonna be the "Next American Idol"!!!

Ok...so yesterday morning I woke up and went to go iron my sons clothes for school like I do every morning. Well my iron had been acting a little funny for a couple of weeks but I didn't really pay much attention to it. I plugged it in as usual and then I went to grab it and all of a sudden...SPARKS started shooting out of the cord!! It scared me and I jumped back and was like, "What the heck!" Then just as I was bending down to unplug it...it caught on FIRE!! It just kept getting bigger and bigger. I needed to unplug it but in order to reach the outlet I had to go underneath the ironing board...which I WASN'T about to do because I was afraid that the fire and sparks that were shooting out would catch my hair on fire!! LOL! (I guess that's not really funny.) Well I yell to my hubby who had just got out of the shower...."Help...IT'S A FIRE...FIRE....HURRY...COME QUICK...FIRE...FIRE!! By this time my ironing board is on fire!! I'm still yelling for my hubby and you know what he said...he told me to HANG ON A MINUTE!! WHAT!!! I'm like it's a FIRE....FIRE...FIRE!! What do you mean HANG ON A MINUTE!!?? I'm still yelling and then after what seemed like FOREVER...he finally came into the room and saw the fire. Now he's like, "OMG...you mean a FIRE." I'm like...well duh!!! He whips off the towel that he was wearing around his waist (yeah...like I said...he just got out of the shower) and manages to put out the fire with the towel. Once it was completely out I asked him what took him so long...he said, "I thought you said....HELP....HELP....A SPIDER!!" LOL!!

Did you catch American Idol last night? I was so glad that the judges used their save card cause I wasn't ready for Matt Giraud to go home just yet!! I don't think he's going to win but I really like this guy. Speaking of winning...I seriously think that Adam Lambert has some serious talent!! He's got to win it!!! He's in a league all his own!!

Been to a ScrapMatters Speed Scrap lately? Well I haven't and I've really missed them. I've been so busy getting my computer back to normal that I haven't had time for much of anything. But today there is a Daytime Speed Scrap check it out...

I may just need to show up for this one. I've missed scrapping so much but the other day I had the house to myself and I decided to make a LO. These are photos of my son when he was playing in the backyard the other day. I a new collab kit by Britt-ish Designs and Mira Designs called "Totally Buggin" you can get it here at ScrapMatters.

Nothing else new going on today...still trying to put the finishing touches on a kit that I'm working on. Hopefully I will be able to get it released this Friday...we'll see.

Don't forget American Idol comes on tonight! I've really been enjoying this season...and last weeks show....OMG!!!! I loved it!! I loved that Smokey Robinson was the guest for this week...it made for a real entertaining show!! Want to hear my thoughts on some of my favorite contestants? Well just call me the 5th judge....here we go!!

Adam Lambert - Can you say "OMG"! Why doesn't this guy already have a record deal??!! He is my favorite!! He hits notes that give you goose bumps!! Seriously!! When he sang "Tracks Of My Tears" I wanted to go out and buy the song. It's seriously something I would listen to right now. Love this guy!

Allison Iraheta - Wow!! Can't believe this girl is only 16. If she keeps picking the right songs she's going to give Adam a run for his money!! For sure!! I'm so glad she picked "Papa Was A Rolling Stone." The perfect song for her!! No matter what happens on American Idol we will for sure be hearing more from this girl!

Matt Giraud - I love him!! I'm not sure if he gets enough credit though. I feel like every week he has been consistent!! I'm really diggin' his Justin Timberlake/Robin Thicke vibe!! He's another one who I think if he continues to pick the right song...then he's gonna go a long way!

Danny Gokey -In the beginning (before the top 12)he was actually my favorite...(but then I heard Adam and Allison...LOL!) although I still like him and think that he can really sing...I just think because there is a lot of talent he just may need to kick it up a notch. I totally think he is capable of doing it too!!

Anoop Desai -Talk about stepping up to the challenge!! He barely made the top 12 and every since he had that terrible first performance he in my opinion had totally turned things around. I would love to see him do well in this competition because I can see he is really trying and totally taking the constructive criticism and working on it. As Randy would say, "Go Anoop Dawg!"

Ok so that's just a few of my thoughts on my favorite American Idol contestants. I look forward to watching tonight's show and I hope it's going to be entertaining!! Hope you'll watch it with me!!

Aaaahhhhh!! My favorite show is back on....do you remember what it is? Well actually I have two favorite shows that I talk a lot about. Well in case you didn't know one of my FAVORITE show is AMERICAN IDOL!!

If I could sing...I would totally go on that show...for real!! But anywhoo...it started this week and I couldn't be more thrilled!! Now I finally have something to watch again!! And wait it gets even better....my second favorite show also has it's season premiere this month too....LOST!!

I just can't wait until it that starts...I hear they have to go back to the island....huh oh!!! I'm gonna be glued to the tv when it starts.

So this week we were at the Purdue vs. Duke game!! And let me tell you the atmosphere was CraaZZZZZY!!! Here is a two-page layout that I did...it just might give you an idea of how fun the game was!!

So I have to give you an update on LOST...guess what peeps....I'm finally done watching all four seasons!!! My hubby and I had been watching it for our date night but I had to go solo here recently and watch it by myself with basketball season in full swing!! I would find myself staying up late at night watching LOST just because I couldn't take my eyes off my computer screen. I had no idea this show would be this good!! We also got a sneak peek of the new season when my hubby and I went to watch Quantum of Solace...and guess what???....they have to go back to the island!! Is that not crazy or what!!! I can't wait!! I think I read that the new season comes out in January...not sure though...so if anyone knows...please let me know!!!

We just put up our Christmas tree the other day...

... so now I'm feeling all wrapped up in the Christams spirit and feel like giving!!! (Nevermind my ds's face...I think he was tired of getting his picture taken so he was all smiled out!) Ok....now here's what you've been waiting for...THE BLACK FRIDAY BLOG TRAIN has pulled into the station!!! I'm stop number 13 and you've just arrived in the Midwest!! But before you collect your gift...let me share with you a little bit about my family and my all time FAVORITE Christmas tradition...

For those of you who don't know...I am the youngest of seven children. (Yeah...that's right 7!) My parents adopted six children...myself included...and I feel so blessed to be part of such a huge family. My favorite Christmas Family Tradition that we would celebrate every year when we were living at home was called "The Seven Days of Christmas." At least that's what my mom called it...why seven???....for her seven children. It worked like this...starting on December 18th of every year just before we would go to bed we would all assemble around our huge family table. Usually my mom would have these two big Christmas tree candles lit to make it kinda of special. My parents would start off by reading a few verses out of the Bible and after that they would remind us about the true meaning of Christmas. After that we would go around the table usually from oldest to youngest and say what we were thankful for. Then my mom would pull out seven small presents and hand them out to each of us. Of course as a child this was my favorite part...the presents weren't anything real big...it was usually something like a candybar, or Christmas Pez, coloring books...things like that. So we would do this every night through Christmas Eve. Then on Christmas morning we would wake up....ummm....correction....I would wake everybody up!!....and we would line up on the stairs usually from youngest to oldest... sometimes we would alternate each year and do it from oldest to youngest. But if I put on my spoiled brat face then I would get my way and most of the time we would line up from youngest to oldest which meant that I was the first one in line!! Yippie!! As we would stand in line on the stairs we could hear my parents shuffling presents around and they would always put on Christmas music. Then we would hear them yell, "Ok....come on down...it's Christmas!" Now I'm not sure why I even bothered to beg to be in the front each year because whenever my parents gave the "OK" to come downstairs all I could hear behind me was feet moving at a fast pace and I could feel the stairs shake!! It was like a stampede or something! I'd start out in the front of the line and before I knew it I'd get pushed down (on accident of course...yeah right) trampeled on (usually my older brother would help me up) and then next thing I know I go from being the first person in line to the last one! Yep...I always end up being the last one down the stairs and into the family room to open our presents!!

Whenever my family all gets together...which is very rare because we are spread out all over the country...we always have such great laughs about this family tradition!! I miss those days! I don't really celebrate the "Seven Days of Christmas" like my parents did (mostly because I don't have seven children...LOL!) But we do something similar...on Christmas Eve we sit down...me, my husband, step-son (if he's in town) and my son and we discuss the true meaning of Christmas and why we celebrate it. It's important to me that my children know that it's not about Santa and presents but about the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. On Christmas morning...yep...I'm still the one that wakes everybody up...some things never change!! I make them wait in line just the two of them...while I light up the Christmas tree...shuffle the presents around and turn on some Christmas music...and then I yell, "Ok....come on down...it's Christmas!"

Well I hope everyone had a great time this weekend celebrating Digital Scrapbooking Day! Hopefully you were able to get some great deals!

While my dh and ds were outside enjoying the beautiful weather we have been having I managed to get a LO done. It felt so good too! I love to design...but it just feels so good to actually get a chance to scrap every now and then too.

Ever since my ds was born every year in October we get so excited to go shopping for a Halloween costume. He just turned five not too long ago and every year I've always been able to have a big influence on what costume he's going to get. I like finding the costumes that not everyone has...or is at least different in some way. This usually means we have to travel out of town to find something. His very first costume was a pumpkin costume, then it was Thomas the Train...then he was a fireman...and last year he was a police man! All of these costumes I picked out and he just went along with it. Well earlier this year when we were discussing costumes I told him that he should be a pirate...he makes the cutest little pirate face!! Plus I already new which kit I could use to scrap the photos too!! (Ha ha....yeah...I had a plan)! Well all was good until we went into the Halloween store and he saw all of the Super Hero costumes!!! You know...Spiderman, Superman, Power Rangers etc...well I tried to steer him towards the pirate costumes to help persuade him into being a pirate...but my plan failed me!! He found a Transformer Bumblebee costume and he had his mind made up! He wanted to be Bumblebee the Transformer. Uggh!!! I wasn't happy...I just knew that I would see tons of Bumblebee costumes on Halloween night!! But then I had to pull myself together and remember he is at that age where he and his friends are always pretending to be superhero's. Well I finally gave in...and he went trick or treating as a Transformer!! He's put on this costume every day...and I mean every day...since I've bought it. Here he is with my dh and our cousins...whose house we have trick or treated at every year since he was born...The kit that I used is called Spookalicious by Simply Sweet Designs and the template is from Sya's Blueprints both at ScrapMatters.

My camera actually stopped working during our trick or treat outing so I didn't get a chance to take photos on the rest of our stops...but I am so thankful for our friends and family that let us trick or treat at their house every year!!

Here's another LO that I did about a week ago using WM Squared's Grab Bag which you can get at ScrapMatters...we love to eat Giordano's Pizza!!

On a serious note...I just wanted to remind everyone how important this Presidential Election is! We are 2 days away from the General Election and if you didn't vote early make sure on Tuesday you go and exercise your right to vote! My husband and I have made plans to get up early to go vote. I'm not sure if we will have long lines to wait in or not...but long or not we will be there and will not leave until we have voted! We are even taking my ds with us! I figure no matter who wins it's going to be history in the making and I want him to be there for that! Although he is only five he is very well aware that the country is in the process of picking a new president and he as even expressed to me who he is voting for. ( I guess I'm going to have to create a kiddie ballot for him so he can pretend to cast his vote...LOL!) But anyway we will be there standing in line...and of course I'll have my camera with me so I can scrap the event! And years from now...I will be able to show him the LO and let him know that he was there to witness this historical event. Now...I'm not quite sure how I'm going to keep him entertained during the wait especially if there is a long line...but I figured I'd take his wagon and some toys so at least he would be able to sit down and play for a bit while were waiting. I'll let you know how that goes!! LOL!

Well I guess I've rambled enough!! Now I have to go and get my LOST fix...yeah I'm still watching it! I want to be caught up when the new season comes out in 2009. Somebody please tell me though...are they EVER GONNA GET OFF THE ISLAND???!!!

Lost!!!..have you seen it??

Hi everyone! Well once again the weekend is here! Yippie! I'm not releasing any new products today at SM...truthfully because they just aren't ready yet. Hopefully by next Friday they should be done.

Ok so for the past couple of weeks I've been totally addicted to something! You know the show LOST with Matthew Fox??...

I think season 5 will be starting sometime in 2009. Well I remember when the show first aired several years ago...and I remember thinking to myself..."Oh I've got to watch that!!" I've loved Matthew Fox since my "Party of Five" days!! Well somehow I missed the first couple of episodes and I thought that I would be totally LOST (hehe) if I started the show in the middle...so I never watched it. Well a couple of weeks ago I was flipping through the channels on tv and came across the very first episode on the Sci-Fi channel...I watched the first episode and was immediately hooked!! They ended up showing 4 episodes back to back. Now I don't normally sit in front of the tv this long but I must admit...for four hours my eyes were glued to the tv!! Well come to find out they show four episodes every monday. But I couldn't wait an entire week to find out what was going to happen on the island. Over the next couple of days I was going through LOST withdrawls...for real!! So I went to abc.com and looked up LOST and what do I see....all four seasons of LOST!! Just waiting for me to watch!! Now I'm happy!! I had to tell my dh about the show cause I just knew he would love it. So once my ds is in the bed my dh and I have a little date night watching LOST. Last night we stayed up until 2:00am watching episode after episode! We are only into the first couple of episodes of season 2 and have a long way to go...but I have to see the entire four season's before season 5 comes out in 2009!! So sorry to turn this into a long blah blah blah LOST session...but seriously...if you have not seen this show....go to abc.com and check it out....let me know what you think.

Well that's all for today. I'm going to work some more on my new kit and then later on we have a football game to go to tonight. Our high school team hasn't lost a game yet...I'm hoping that continues!! Have a good one!

Happy Friday to everyone!! Don't you just love Friday's...I know I do!! Well I'm releasing a brand new kit in the store at ScrapMatters today. I must tell you...I'm so excited about this kit!! Let me explain...most of you know that I'm girl who loves hot weather and the beach!! True...true...very true!! But there is just something about Autumn that I absolutely love...from the leaves changing colors to the friday night football games...not to mention autumn is the time of year when I met my dh! Whooo am I glad the weekend is here!!! I just got back from a football game which I was looking forward to going to cause things have just been super busy around here with school starting. So it was nice to just kick back and watch a good ol' game of football!
